Little Things

Yesterday evening I was in the kitchen making broccoli salad and cooking turkey filets. Daughter was in the kitchen making a jello salad. We were both in the kitchen cooking at the same time. We were both cooking things that required multiple ingredients. We both had plenty of room in which to work. Have I mentioned recently that I love my new kitchen? The quality of these pictures isn't great-- but here's the kitchen:

Lovely kitchen! I'm happy for you! Do you have services this Sunday in your new church or are you on "vacation" for a week or two? Bet you'll be glad when you're all settled in and back into a routine with Daughter.

Blessings

Thanks. I officially start work on Monday, October 18. I'm enjoying the time to settle in and get things unpacked. I am looking forward to getting into a routine. I will be even happier when I get Daughter into a program. That may not happen until next year, unfortunately.

I'm wondering if your county has a mental health board or an MR/DD board? We used the Mental Health Board here when Miss M came home from residential treatment and they provided a case manager and access to programs. Her Medicaid didn't take 45 days to come through, but it wasn't instantaneous and the programs too the word of the public agency in order to enroll her. She even had housing through that agency.

In Ohio they'll expedidite medicaid if there's intervention from another public agency.

Just a couple of thoughts worth thinking.

MR/DD is part of Mental Health-- which I think will be much better for Daughter. I've considered calling them to see if we can at least get things started while we wait for the Medicaid.

If you give it a try you might find that you'll get some good service, especially if you give them the "single mom, minister, new in town" speech. I am an evil woman.

I could also pull out the "having psychotic episodes due to lack of structure." She told me she was hearing voices today. True? Who knows?
